Tax Credits

Updated January 22, 2015…

Replacement Doors & Windows – it is DVC’s position that energy-efficient replacement doors & windows are a WISE & COST-EFFECTIVE investment – regardless of the existence of a Tax Credit.

At present, the U.S. Congress has NOT proposed any legislation extending door & window Tax Credits into 2015.  However, if you installed replacement doors or windows during 2014, you MAY be eligible for certain 2014 Residential Energy Efficiency Tax Credits.

*It is noteworthy that the 2014 Tax Credit ‘extension’ was not signed into law until December 19, 2014 – which made it difficult to plan in advance.  Will Congress do the same in 2015?

Check back to this site often, as we will be posting updates regarding future Tax Credits, as they become available.

DISCLAIMERS:

*Tax credits typically do NOT extend to installation costs, but only to what was paid for the window/door.  DVC can itemize these costs on your bill for tax purposes.

*This web post is not intended to constitute legal or tax advice.  Nor does it represent a promise of deductibility or tax credit.  DVC advises you to consult a tax professional before claiming these tax privileges.

TYPES OF SKYLIGHTS

There are 3 basic types of skylights to consider:

Skylight - fixedFixed – usually rectangular “windows” on the ceiling, that do NOT open (permanently closed).

Skylight - ventingVenting – able to be opened to allow airflow through them.  Available with either manual or electronic opening mechanisms (including solar powered).

Skylight - tubularTubular – the coolest configuration!  Usually a 10″ or 14″ wide rounded “light tube” inserted between the ceiling & roof.  Allows light in without taking up a lot of ceilign space, budget, or construction.  Great for smaller spaces.

French Doors - InteriorNOTE: ***We were actually disappointed that we could only find ONE manufacturer who had a great Interior French Door Gallery (sometimes referred to as Double Doors).

Find it on Google! – Being that the purpose of this section is to showcase product & inspire ideas, we found the best thing is to search Google Images for French Doors (click HERE for that gallery).  DVC can get/install anything you see.  The search contains both Interior & Exterior results.

THAT ONE MANUFACTURER:

Masonite® – their online brochure for their Wood Door Collection is stellar… and it BEGINS by showcasing Interior French Door options!

♦ Andersen Project Showcase – Andersen Interior French Doors.
